Not Cautiously Enough

Nigel hissed and raised his foreclaws in friendly greeting, but it did not have the desired effect. Two of the knights - a lanky girl with short- cropped red hair and a buck-toothed brown haired young man - immediately went tumbling from their terrified horses. A grizzled old knight with a streak of silver in his gray hair kept control of his steed and immediately drew his sword. The fourth, a young man dressed in fine robes instead of armor, seemed to remain calm, as did his horse. In one hand he was holding a small stone that glowed faintly, illuminating the chaotic scene.

"It's her!" the buck-toothed knight gawked, scrambling to his feet and drawing his sword. "The mad amazon!"

"Do you mean us harm, woman!" the old knight demanded. Amy realized she was still holding her bow in one hand. The red-headed girl already held her horse by the stirrups and also had her sword drawn. Only the robe-clad man still seemed unperturbed - in fact grinned slightly as he looked at Amy. She realized he had to be the possessor of the sexy voice she had heard earlier, though to her disappointment he looked nothing like the TA. For one thing, this man was absurdly handsome, whereas the TA had resembled an alcoholic ferry troll with severe astigmatism. Amy blushed crimson, remembering suddenly that she was wearing nothing but shredded rags.

"Hi there!" Nigel said cheerfully. "So, um, how long have you been letting humans ride on you?"

Amy realized he was speaking to the horses, but again this only succeeded in frightening them. Amid the whinnying of horses and the shouts of men, Amy turned Nigel about and galloped away into the brush.

"Well, that didn't go well." Nigel said a few minutes later, when they could no longer hear the humans. "Let me tell you, those beasts they ride on are remarkably stupid. Nothing like me, but of course I do have the advantage of a college education on my side."

"I wasn't thinking." Amy said through her tears. "We only managed to scare them. Now they probably think I'm some kind of witch or something."

"Don't worry, Amy." Nigel grinned. "I have a plan!"

What does Nigel's plan involve?

1. Impressing upon the humans the need of respecting Amy and Nigel. By force!
2. Bringing the humans some rabbitmeat as a gift.
3. Staying far away from the humans.
4. Setting a pit trap for the humans. After all, once they're captured, then they have to be friends with Amy.
