Time for a Swim

Astra smiled back. "As it looks as though we are going to get wet anyway, seeing that there's little in the way of shelter on this plain, shall we have a swim?" she suggested. "The fish wasn't that heavy a meal, and the water ought to be quite warm, so we shouldn't run much risk of cramp."

"A refreshing swim sounds like a good idea," Fred agreed. "It would wash the soot from the smoke off me." So they stripped off, left their clothes on the bank, and waded out into the lake, as the rain intensified into a downpour.

1. Whilst they were swimming, something odd occurred.
2. After thirty minutes or so, they finished their swim and emerged from the water. By this time the shower had passed over, but it had put out their fire, so they had no way of quickly drying their rain-wettened clothes.
