Fred and Astra had just finished their meal when the rain began. "It looks
as though the spirits don't want to risk their wildfire getting out of
control," Fred said with a smile.
Astra smiled back. "As it looks as though we are going to get wet anyway, seeing that there's little in the way of shelter on this plain, shall we have a swim?" she suggested. "The fish wasn't that heavy a meal, and the water ought to be quite warm, so we shouldn't run much risk of cramp." "A refreshing swim sounds like a good idea," Fred agreed. "It would wash the soot from the smoke off me." So they stripped off, left their clothes on the bank, and waded out into the lake, as the rain intensified into a downpour.
