Explanations Lead to More Confusion

"But I would never have come to Terra if you hadn't come because we had already would have gone there... I mean... Gah. This doesn't make any sense."

"I know. These time loops are hard to wrap your mind around. And trust me, that's only the beginning. The Doctor and the Bettys were trying to come up with scientific explanations for all this, but I have a feeling somehow we're caught up in something greater than ourselves." Oh great, Stacy thought. From this it sounded like there was a good chance her future self had gone completely insane--not surprising considering the circumstances. "But at least you'll know who you are before long," she finished.

"So you remember who you are?" said Current Stacy, a bit desperately.

"Yes, but I can't tell you yet. You'll have to find out for yourself, you won't fully regain your memory otherwise, just the parts that I tell you, and you won't have the 'feel' of it."

Current Stacy was about to ask another question when several things dawned on her. Why was it that there couldn't just be one incredibly confusing thing about this situation? "So how do you not know where the Doctor's going if you were me earlier and went on this trip? Why are we not going to Terra Prime?"

Future Stacy shrugged. "Going through the time gate messed up my memory a bit. Probably it's a side effect of being in the same place and time as my past self. When I told the Doctor about this stituation, he tole me he'd have to take us somewhere else once he rescued you but he wouldn't tell where."

"So what do you remember?" said Stacy. "Do you remember what those skull things are, and--wait, earlier you said 'time loops?' As in more than one? What--"

Just then, they were interrupted by

1. The terrible noise resuming, followed a few seconds later by the Doctor saying: "We're there! Or should that be: 'We're here!'?"
2. A strange shrieking, followed by the sound of a bell ringing in the air.
