Current Stacy wasn't sure how all of those people could fit into that box, let alone
accomodate her and Future Stacy as well. But with all those demon-things bearing down on
her, she wasn't exactly going to be able to find anywhere else to hide. She followed her
supposed future self, leaping into the box just as one of those skulls bore down on her. But
as it hit the place where the door of the box would have been had it been closed, it
screamed in pain and veered off.
With the threat of the demon-skulls gone, Stacy took the chance to take in her surroundings. Her jaw dropped. The room was... maybe not all that large, probably about as large as the living room in a typical apartment, but certainly way larger than that box it was stuffed into. And there was a corridor leading off from the room into... She didn't want to think about it. "OK, what's going on here?" said Current Stacy angrily. "This has got to be some kind of hoax or hallucination or dream. I knew I stayed up way too late last night watching Farscape. I almost believed it, up until I got shoved into this box, but..." "I assure you, my dear Stacy, this is all very real," said the weird old man. He was dressed in somewhat antiquated, dandyish clothing. His hair is a shock of white. He seemed to burn with a strange, alien presence. "As difficult as it may seem, you have to accept what's happening. The fate of the world is at stake!" "Sorry, Doctor, but could we tone down on the dramatics a bit? She seems a little shaken," said the refreshingly normal-looking brown-haired woman. "Don't worry, I can see how this might be kind of hard to accept, but everything will be fine." "Who are you?" said CurrentStacy, with curiosity and just a bit of anger. "We've never met before. Well, I've met you, but you haven't met me. Well, I will have met you. I have will have met you? Gah. Anyway, I'm Betty Ragan, but you can call me Betty. I'm a radio astronomer at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory and I also used to write fanfic and interactive story episodes, but you probably haven't heard of me through that. The redhead over there is my alternate universe counterpart. She's also called Betty Ragan, but you can call her Ragan. Or Betty, I suppose. No one seems to be able to keep our names straight, not even the Doctor. Anyway, we don't look alike so it's easy to tell us apart." "So wait," said Stacy, "she's supposed to be you? But you don't look alike at all! How did... Oh, my head..." "It's rather too long to explain, I fear," said the Doctor. "Stacy, could you kindly explain a few things to your past self?"
