The two Stacys sprinted towards the strange blue box, which was reminiscent of a telephone booth, though a little wider and with opaque sides so that one couldn't see into it. Though it seemed as if it could provide little protection from the mayhem going on in Times Square, perhaps they could conceal themselves in it, Current Stacy thought. It might be rather a tight squeeze for the two of them, though.

When they were only a short distance away from it:

  1. A door opened in the front of the thing. "Hurry up!" the man standing in the doorway urged them. Current Stacy could see two women peering over his shoulder, one with red hair and one with brown.
  2. The monstrous hand in the sky caught Current Stacy. Future Stacy took out her sword and slashed at it.
  3. The booth began making a noise like a badly maintained washing machine at the end of its spin cycle, and then vanished. Both Stacys were astonished, though for different reasons.
