As the Shoggoth looked into the lovely woman's emerald eyes, it felt a strange stirring
within his deepest nature. The old Fred would have instantly been consumed by love for
her, if he could to look into her soul the way a Shoggoth could, but at least in his conscious
mind the thing formerly known ad Fred only felt contempt at her weak, flimsy human nature
and her strivings for something that wasn't real. "I am not afraid of the light," said the
Shoggoth. "There is no light. In the end, the darkness will cover all things. Even the
brightest of stars will fade and be eaten by the darkness one day."
Exotica felt like she was trapped in a nightmare, afraid to close her eyes but unable to stop looking. Then, surprised at the inner strength that filled her nature, she looked into the demon's eyes, unafraid. Unbeknownst to her, holy energy began to crackle through her essence. She simply said, "Lynati." The Shoggoth, to its total incomprehension, found itself expelled by a blast of cosmic energy.
