Looking for the Court Mage

She decided that she would never be able to get back to sleep till her questions had been answered, and that in any case it might be important to report what had just happened before whatever power was behind it could make another move. So she dressed and went in search of the court mage, Arahim. She knew that he was reputed to keep strange hours, so he would probably still be up. Perhaps he could enlighten her as to what had occurred, and would know what needed to be done.

At this late hour, the interior of the castle was deserted, though there would of course still be guards on the battlements and at the main gate. So she met no-one as she walked along the passages.

Reaching the door to Arahim's quarters, she knocked on it.

1. She heard his deep voice say: "Come."
2. There was no response. She pushed on the door and it swung open.
3. Whilst waiting for a response, she idly looked at her reflection in the mirror that happened to be mounted on the wall next to the door. She gasped in amazement. Somewhen within the last few hours, she had changed!
