Lord Fred whipped out his trusty huge sword and smiled. The dog looked at him quizzically. Fred thought, This will take that door right out of my way! Lock, schmock! and swung the sword mightily at the door. CLANG!!!!!! the sword bounced back with a violent reverberation that set Lord Fred's teeth chattering and almost broke both his arms. The dog almost seemed to be snickering at him. "Oh, shut up." Fred admonished it. He took a better look at the door. What had appeared to be plain, ordinary wood--something that Fred's sword could cut through easily--was actually some kind of very strong, thick metal, painted to look like wood. Or, maybe, he thought, looking even closer, it WAS wood and his sword had bounced off a magical force-field. At any rate, he wasn't going to get through that way. But wait! There appeared to be a smaller door inside the main one. He pushed it and yes, it opened. Unfortunately, it was far too small for him to fit through. However, Velus, the dog, might go through easily, and scout around for him. On the other hand, Fred wanted to go through this door himself, he was getting sick and tired of staying in this one room of this cave!
