A More Constructive Use of Leisure Time

Well, you have to agree that this really is something very, very, very else from the previous scenario Lord Fred found himself in.

Fred knew that if he was getting assigned to the Enterprise, his time on this mortal coil was limited. After the mopping, making coffee and other tedious tasks, it was inevitable that the ship's captain would draft him involuntarily for a mission down to the surface of a potentially hostile planet, and at least one of those red shirt wearing Ensigns wasn't coming back alive. Fred was well aware of the Federation's policies of leaving the gory remains of any Ensign killed by hostile alien races on the surface of the planet they met their ends on. No burial, no memorial services, just leave the corpse where it lie.

Fred knew he did not want this. So, a decision was made. He would immediately go AWOL.

1. So, Fred went away and did that.
2. Fred is nabbed before he can even get off the base.
3. Something very, very, very else, part two.
4. Something very, very, very else, part four?
5. Fred escapes into a very strange new place.
6. Fred stumbles into a waiting room.
7. Ben is severely reprimanded for using too many backlinks.
8. Fred is informed that his mission won't actually begin for another three years.
