Intruders Aboard!

"Aaah, I'm so glad to get out of that cursed crate!" Sgiourney exclaimed, flexing her arms.

"Same here," Louise said. "Now, go above and find out what's going on!"

The three of them located the door that led topside, but just as they reached it, they heard the sound of voices - unfamiliar ones.

"Are you sure you saw them here?" once of them said.

"With me own two eyes," came another, rougher voice. "They was three of 'em, right enough, and they all looked just alike!"

"But they're nowhere on board, so far as I can tell."

"They hasta be, Master Irix! No one's come on nor left since I got word to ya!"

"I see. Well, then explain why I have the entire crew cooling its heels in the city gaol, and not a single woman among 'em."

"Maybe they be in the cargo hold."

There was a pause, then a sigh. "Well, I suppose there's only one way to find out."

The three girls looked at each other in alarm.

1. The girls quickly run back and try to climb up the ladder to their crate hideaway.
2. The girls quickly try to bar the hold door shut.
3. While attempting to flee, one of the girls trips and knocks over a stack of crates.
4. Before they could do anything, the door flew open.
5. Thankfully, Irix and his snitch were distracted by something on the docks and left.
