The Fate of the Men?

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 38930

"It's very strange," Chapel went on. "In some ways, your brain functions more like a man's than a woman's, Uhura. That's probably why you've resisted what is so obviously logical when viewed correctly."

Fred wasn't surprised to hear what Chapel had said about her brain, but she thought it unwise to make any comment beyond: "Really?"

"Please see sense, Nurse Chapel - Christine," McCoy butted in. "You can't hope to get away with this. Besides, a crew of 126 - correction, 125 - isn't enough to operate the Enterprise."

"On a largely automated vessel like this, that should be plenty," Chapel told him. "I don't know why Starfleet wanted so big a crew. Frankly, most of the men aboard the Enterprise are expendable."

"You don't mean...?" Fred said, horrified by what she thought that Chapel might be implying.

"That we intend to kill them?

  1. "Yes, we do. Apart from the male medical staff, whose skills may be needed."
  2. "No, we don't intend to do that, although a few may have lost their lives through resisting when we took over the ship."
