And so it came to pass Roland's group increased by two. One was a scrawny
boy, who had encountered the group in a fit of exhitionism. He had no
recall of his own name but was called Josh. The other, who went by Scott
Chen, told the group that he had encountered Josh a few hours earlier in
the Staircase Room. The Staircase Room interested Roland, for it's description seemed to be of the Dark Tower itself. The details of the Room, the food, the spiral staircase, the odd bursts of unreality... Soon Roland took it upon himself to hyptonize Josh and Scott but he learned nothing more then what was freely offered. The area around where they appeared produced nothing of value. Jake even instrcuted Oy to follow their scents but both ended on a small boulder at the edge of a corn field. Then the group went on. Days passed. Scott Chen and Josh Of No Last Name gladly followed Roland. A brutal walking pace was set up. Sometimes Josh and Scott would drop back even half a mile. But they soon improved and lost much weight. Then...the first test of the enlarged ka-tet came when...
