Scott cowered behind the register of the 7-12 conveinence store. Flagg
stood on the other side, hands in his jean jacket, smiling just a little.
Oy stodd on the counter, on a hand-worn lotto sign advertising Christmas
scratchoffs, barking and howling and vocalizing random words. "Be grateful." Flagg said. "Be grateful, Oy of Mid-World and Scott Chen of Central-Earth. You are on a paticularly fragile part of the Beam and if I used my powers to destroy you now, to even shed a drop of your blood, my enter enterprise would literally fall apart. But for now, I leave you with this. One of your Ka-Tet will be left behind soon." "Lies!" Scott screamed in the face of this evil. " 'Ies!" Oy echoed. "Perhaps." Flagg drawled. "Perhaps. But as the philisopher Albert Chain once said 'The greatest threat the devil ever posed is his abillity to tell the truth'." Without traversing the distance, Flagg was at the door. "Toodle-oo, Scott. And remember, I know all about you. What would your new friend Roland think about Sara? Have you even bothered to look for her after all these years? Tsk tsk."
