Sleep Deprivation?

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 37996

"What plan?" asked Astra.

"You mean you missed my entire speech?" roared Manathus.

"Well, yes," replied Astra. "It's kind of hard to pay attention when you haven't been able to sleep for several days."

"Oh yes, that's right. Terribly sorry for everything that happened to you; I forgot that humans need sleep to function properly." Manathus at least appeared to have calmed down.

Fred, however, was quite confused by the seemingly random actions of this mage without morals. It just didn't make sense that he would start a war just to find an antidote, and it wasn't clear why he would forget such obvious things such as humans' need for sleep. Something fishy was going on here; more than that, Fred was uncertain.

Manathus broke what appeared to be an awkward silence. "Well, in that case, the two of you should obviously get some sleep. I'll still be here when you awaken." He began a long incantation. Both Fred and Astra were sound asleep by the end of it.

When they wake up...

  1. Fred and Astra find themselves in the same position they were before going to sleep, and Manathus is waiting to retell his story.
  2. Fred and Astra find themselves in the same position they were before going to sleep, but Manathus has disappeared!
  3. Fred and Astra find themselves in a castle bedroom, and Manathus is standing over them with a vial of potion.
  4. Fred and Astra find themselves in a castle bedroom, with no memory of who the other one is!
