Manathus' Mysterious Potion

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 38667

Fred and Astra awoke to find that they were now in a richly decorated bedroom, and that they were lying on opposite sides of a massive four- poster bed. Manathus had used his magic to clean them up and to attire them more appropriately. Fred was now wearing a long white nightshirt that reached to his knees, whilst Astra had on a dark blue nightgown and the remains of her chains were gone.

They had no opportunity for the time being to find out whether the large wardrobe up against one wall held any day wear for them, since Manathus was standing over the bed. In his hand was a glass vial containing a green liquid.

"You don't really think that we're going to drink that on your say-so?" Fred said.

  1. "No," Manathus replied, removing the stopper and shaking the contents over them before they could move out of the way. "As you can see, that was not an issue," he added.
  2. "It's just peppermint cordial. I thought that you might find it refreshing. There are three glasses on the bedside table. Yes, I'll have some too, to reassure you."
  3. "I think that you will drink it once I've told you what is going to happen to you if you don't."
  4. "And another thing," Fred added. "If your human body that we can see is just an illusion, as you claimed, then how are you able to hold that vial?"
