'Conversation' With Minestus

Minestus simply raised an eyebrow, but made no comment that he had heard. Instead, he looked at Astra. "I've got something fun for you, my dear Princess. A nice two by two mile labyrinth full of monsters and booby traps." He held up a hand before Astra could say anything. "Don't worry, you'll going to have your armour and weaponry restored. I'm not that unsporting, you know." Then as quick as a flash, Astra had disappeared.

He turned his attention to the surprised and frightened Stacy. He gave his most disarming smile. "Don't worry, I'm not going to harm you." He leaned forward. "If I wanted you dead, I would have had you taken care of when you'd appeared from that portal. These portals having nothing to do with me, by the way," he added as an afterthought.

Seeing that Stacy wasn't going to say anything anytime soon, he continued in a conversational tone. "You know what I did to Astra? I tried to do that to you." Still no response, though he got a shocked expression. "Imagine my surprise when it didn't work." Stacy looked herself over. She didn't think she was anything special. "I came to the conclusion that it must be something to do with the world you came from." Incomprehension. "Magic, or at least true magic," he clarified, "must be virtually unknown. It's been widely believed that people from such worlds are immune to magic, why is still being discussed."
