Astra woke with a start. Something had disturbed her from sleep, but when
she opened her eyes she could spot nothing that might have done so, even
though there was quite bright moonlight by which to see.
She looked at Fred. He was still sound asleep, but now he was naked. What had happened to the rags that he had been wearing? Only then did she realise that she was naked too. Her improvised loincloth had disappeared. Looking about, she was able to see that they were surrounded by small pieces of cloth strewn about over a wide area. Somebody or something had somehow removed their clothes, such as they were, torn them up and scattered the pieces around, all without waking them. How was that possible?
