Velus found the humidity too much for him, and despite his best efforts he
fell asleep. However, when he falls into a deep sleep, he tends to make a
noise like a cross between a snore and a bark. This failed to wake Fred,
but then not much could short of an earthquake. Some might say that would
have been a disadvantage for a knight, but hadn't caused him any problems
so far. Astra, as was common among her people, was a light sleeper and was
soon woken up. She saw Velus asleep and shook him roughly. "You're
supposed to be on watch!" Velus groggily opened his eyes and looked into the angry face of Astra. "I...I'm sorry." He stammered. "The heat..." Astra looks at his pathetic expression and her hard expression melted. She sometimes forgot that not everybody was well adjusted to the humid climate as she was. "It's OK," she said. "I'll take over now."
