After a while they found some berries which, together with some fruit they
had brought with them from the island, made a not very inspiring
substitute meal instead of rabbit stew. It was now beginning to get dark,
so after eating they decided to make camp for the night. Well, "make camp"
was something of a euphemism since they didn't actually have anything to
make camp with. Instead they found a dry spot covered with springy
grass, and settled down to sleep as best they could. It was reasonably
warm, so their lack of blankets and their ragged clothing would not be a
problem.
At least, three of them settled down to sleep, since they had decided that being in an unknown land it would be sensible for someone to keep watch. Velus took the first watch, with instructions to wake Astra to relieve him once he estimated that two hours had passed.
