So it doesn't have any trees. I thought I had him. This is going to
take a lot more questions than I thought. Even for a knight, Fred was not very bright. In fact, he had graduated from the Elite Squires' Academy solely because of his father's influence. Fred kept thinking about the Elite Squires' Academy, and about his best friend Eddie, whose real name was Eddivecchialito or something too long for Fred to remember. Eddie was extremely bright, and if he wasn't so good at running things through with his sword he certainly would have become an excellent mage. The dragon's sharp voice quickly brought Fred back to reality. "Fred, I'm waiting. You still have sixteen questions left, though I think you'll need all of them." Just then, Fred remembered the strangest thing about Eddie. He refused to eat meat! Every day, it would be radishes, or carrots, or lettuce, or...whatever those peasants working his family's land grew. Occasionally, Eddie would have this interesting meal called a "salad," which was a bunch of vegetables all thrown together, washed but uncooked. Fred had tasted it once. It wasn't bad. Maybe the dragon is a vegetarian, thought Fred. Maybe that's why he only chains warrior princesses to walls of caves and plays guessing games with knights like me, instead of eating us up. Maybe the dragon has those salad things too, only his portions would be huge--bigger than me. Fred decided to ask his fifth question. "Does it have more than one kind of vegetable in it?"
