A few days into my journey nothing else untoward had happened. I was
happy. So happy, in fact, I was singing. Unlike some people I knew, I was
ready to admit to the fact that I was tone deaf. So there I was, leaning back in my chair when it happened. Without warning the Astra shuddered violently, twice. This set off the alarm, which I almost immediately switched off. Swivelling in my chair, I quickly killed the engines. Getting up, I went over to the Mark 1 eyeball to get a look at the surrounding area. Nothing but empty space. Off the port bow was a large point of light, indicating the presence of a relatively nearby star. Scanning further around, I noticed what looked like a grey/green vortex- thing disappear. Odds were that was how I landed in my current predicament. It definately wasn't a wormhole as they generally didn't capture a ship and then dump it elsewhere. You had some degree of control over the situation. Over to the starcharts. After around half a hour I realised there wasn't a snowballs chance in hell I could locate my exact position.
