Five troopers darted into the cabin. In a few seconds two came out,
followed
by a third. They walked back toward Andrea toward where Andrea sat high
on her
charger. "He's not in there, Mi Lady," shouted one from fifty
paces. "Then spread out and find him! He can't have gone far in the night." As she gave the order, a fourth man emerged from the small cabin, mounted an available horse and walked the beast toward the other searchers. The three others mounted their horses and spread out. Then it struck Andrea. No fifth had come out of the house. "GET HIM!!" she cried. All stopped and looked at her and where she was pointing. "Him!" she cried with urgency, pointing her sword at the fourth trooper. The fourth trooper spurred his horse and galloped away into the underbrush. Soon the whole unit was hot behind him.
