From his office above the kitchen Chester Grange observed saw a horse
depart at great speed to the east. "How odd," he thought. All messengers
were to come through him. This allowed him to read all messenges that
went out and came in. By this method, he kept tabs on foriegn diplomacy
and business opportunities. He beckoned an assistant who soon found out
that Lydia had procured the fastest horse she could find and given it to a
kitchen helper. Soon after, Lydia was standing before the shriveled demon
of a man. She feared he was after her body, as he had made advances many
times. "Lydia, why have you procured a horse from our stables and given it to a kitchen hand? Are you certain it will return?" "Sire, all the messengers have departed our gates. I used what I could to send my lady's kit to her." "I know," smiled Grange, "that many messengers are out because the royal family is mostly away, but there are three messengers sitting idle. Besides, I had your lady's bags double checked. She has her kit with her. What is going on?"
