Fred and the princess proceeded to the lake and found a way down to the water's edge,where they drank and bathed...no false modesty preventing them from seeing each other naked after all their ordeals.

The pyramid,they thought,was where the deadly wizard was likely to be found,and also their only hope of getting home.They conferred for a while and then,as they splashed about...

  1. became aware that a group of apes had come to the water's edge and were eyeing them,not kindly.
  2. found that they were being sucked to the middle of the lake by a current.
  3. she screamed as a tentacle wrapped itself around her.
  4. The red pyramid...somehow...appeared right next to the lake!
