Actually, the current suprised both of them.
Astra was driven to her knees and Lord Fred was sucked backwards. The princess was thankfully in arms reach of a branch that overhung the lake. She grabbed it and kicked out her right foot. Lord Fred wrapped both hands around it.
"PULL!" he shouted as the water roared past them. What was going on here?
As Astra heaved herself closer to the shore Lord Fred saw a spot near the bank bubbling. It was an underground spring roaring into the lake and causing the mighty current!
Astra pulled herself up the tree branch and managed to perch on it. Lord Fred climbed up her leg and joined her. Various bugs ran over their feet.
"Let's try and get to our clothes." said Lord Fred.

"Your clothes." said Astra, as the two safely navigated to his equipment.

"Your clothes." said Astra. Then the branch snapped, dumping them back into the water.

Giant boulders rain from the sky.
