"And there might be a perfectly logical reason for all of this," Khrusti
added. "Infact, this isn't even the first time I've been through a portal
like that. Usually you just get sent back or forward in time, but
sometimes you'll switch realities altogether. Once I ended up in Kansas."
"We've obviously drifted into the Otherworld," Fred sighed, motioning at the pink sky. "We are at the hands of the gods now, as they have made evident from the message in the heavens." "I saw similar wonders in the skies over Kansas," Khrusti said dreamily, as if he was caught up in some distant memory (which he was). "The messages written with clouds there were no less cryptic. I saw one that read, 'Marry me, Wilma'."This Khrusti seemed like a real know-it-all, now that Fred thought of it. He glared at the physicaly fit, green haired man. "Was the sky PINK in this Kansas you speak of!?" "Well...no. But when I visited the Jurassic it was. Seems the entire earth was at one time surrounded by a thick layer of water vapors that condensed in the upper atmosphere and glowed pink, creating a wonderful greenhouse effect over the entire planet. Thing is, I don't remember seeing clouds there. It never rained, there were more natural springs and fountains in those days. Not only only that, but it also amplified the singing of the stars, which..."Fred yawned. "Are you done?" "Well, actually...""Good. Thanks for your input, Khrusti. Now, getting back to what's important...we are now the play things of the gods. We have obviously offended them. Somebody is going to have to be sacrificed to appease them. And it must be very, very...very bloody. The gods just can't get enough blood." Astra couldn't help but agree, her beliefs no less bloody and savage than those of Fred. The dog-boy, Velus, suggested that they draw lots in order to determine whose heart should be cut out with a blunt object. Remarkably, Astra just happened to have a sketch pad and pencil, and proceeded to draw Lots. It was creepy, the way she had captured the shadowing just right, so that no matter where you stood his eyes seemed to be fixated on Astra's ass. It was obvious from the caption underneath the picture, however, that Khrusti should be the sacrificial lamb. It read quite clearly: Sacrifice Khrusti. "This is insanity!" Khrusti protested, to no avail...
