"Oh come on," Fred protested, shuffling through his armour in search of
his dragonslaying liscence. Eventually he found it, and promptly handed
it over to Belboz. "It's got my picture there," he explained, "usually
that's all I need to show anyone." "This doesn't look like you," Belboz sneered, tossing the document back carelessly. "That's a pretty medallion you've got strung about your neck. Hand it over and this is all settled." Fred's face was turning mildly red. "Fine!" He handed the pen back to Belboz. "Give me back my watch."Belboz refused the pen and shook his head stubbornly, pointing to a sign mounted in a corner of the dimly lit chamber. It read: No returns. Ever. "When I said 'borrow' I was just joking. I'm a funny guy, I like to joke. The pen's yours." "This is a complete load of crap!" Fred yelled, throwing the pen accross the room in a fit of emotion. "All I want to know is how a dragon cries, but this is highway robbery!""More like byway robbery, but yes, robbery nonetheless. You should really come more prepared when you visit these caves. People like you are my bread and butter." "You know what," Fred snarled, exposing his teeth like an angry baboon and puffing his chest out, "I have the permission of the King to deal with any obstacles that stand in the way of my Quest with whatever means I deem appropriate." He gestured at the sword to his side and winked. "You being an obstacle, old man?"Belboz cackled. "What are you, an ape? You can't scare me with idle threats and primal gestures." "Darn! What about primal threats and idle gestures?" Belboz shook his head."Hmmm. You drive a hard bargain, necromancer, but it seems you are at the top of your game. Here, take the medallion, and please - do continue your intriguing story." Fred gave the crooked old man the priceless family heirloom. His great, great grandfather turned over in his grave just about then. Belboz smiled warmly and accepted the gilded trinket, then continued his tale."Now where was I? Oh yes! The villagers thought it better to remain peons of the Dragon than to move anywhere..."
