"Ha Ha Ha!" the booming voice thundered, adding, "There is much fighting
to follow!" Before the the group assembled in that murky cavern could discern the source of the mysterious voice, a fireball went flying into their midst, headed straight for the gnome. As the little creature's leathery skin was enveloped in the scorching fire a pleasant, musky aroma filled the cavern. This gave Fred an idea, and he made a mental note about gnomes and their pleasant muskiness. It will come into play later on. Meanwhile... The molten, man-like creature who had made his fiery appearance towered over them, looking quite amused at the smoldering heap of ashes that had once been the gnome."Gnomes are a trecherous lot," the lava man explained, "it is best to destroy them before they can charm you with their classy social graces, as they are well versed in all manner of civilized protocol and easily trusted.""You are most wise," said Fred, impressed with the lava man's display of might and further justification of said violence. "We are off to slay the dragon, the terrible dragon of claws!" "Oh?" The lava man seemed amused. "Claws and fire and sorcery, more like. I have decided that I will help you in this endeavor, as I have a score to settle with that old worm. You are speaking of Minestus, are you not?""The one and the same." "Ho Ho! Good then! Follow me!"Fred turned to the others and shrugged. Velus blinked, just to let everyone know he's still here and doing fine. He has a lot on his mind, so cut the guy some slack if he's a little quiet.
