"Nom Malbra?" Astra repeated when the friendly villager had continued on
his way. "Then we are several weeks' journey from Aqualaria, and even
farther from your homelands. This is very strange."
"Indeed," Fred agreed. "There was a powerful magic at work in those red doors." They walked through the streets of the town, keeping their eyes open for any kind of inn or hostel, while their minds continued to ponder their odd circumstances. "I suppose tomorrow we will begin the journey back to your home," Fred said idly as they turned down a broad road. "Perhaps," Astra replied. "But I am in no particular hurry. It might be worthwhile to stay and try to find some sort of clue as to why we are here." Fred nodded. As long as this beautiful and intelligent woman was his companion, he was in no hurry either. "This appears to be a satisfactory prospect," Astra declared, stopping before the door of a brightly-painted structure. The large sign above the door read simply, INN. She led the way inside. "How much for two rooms?" Fred asked the proprietor as he withdrew a sack of coins from his pack. "Ten gold pieces per room per night," the wizened old man stated kindly.
