Entering the Village

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 26238

There seemed no obvious reason for them to choose one place in preference to the other. In the end, they decided to take the path on the left, which looked as though it ought to lead them to the village surrounded by the woods.

After several hours' walking, they arrived at the outskirts of their hoped-for destination. "We should look for an inn," Fred said. "I could use a proper cooked meal, and I'm sure you could too. We can also take rooms for the night."

"I'm afraid I don't have any money with me, Fred," Astra said. "If you are willing to pay for me, then I'll repay you as soon as I can. Ideally I'd like to buy a sword as well, and some more suitable clothes too. This dress and these shoes are fine for the palace, but they aren't very suitable for travelling and adventuring. But that would be imposing on your generosity too much."

"Not at all, Astra," Fred said. "But I will have to check how much money I've got in my pack. Going on a quest to kill the dragon, I didn't expect to need a very large amount. Of course, we've no idea of where we are yet, so we don't know how many days' journey we will have ahead of us."

"Ah," Astra said, "here comes a local. Now we can find out where we are... Excuse me, sir. Can you tell us what village and what land this is?"

  1. "Why, this is the village of Woodston in Allaria, of course." That was only a couple of days' travel from Caemlyn, the Allarian capital.
  2. "This is Granada in Nom Malbra," the man said. Nom Malbra was owned by Hespan and lay well to the south of Aqualaria. They were far from home indeed.
  3. The man looked at her uncomprehendingly. It seemed that he didn't speak the Common Tongue, which must mean that they were a very long way from home.
