A little man with thick spectacles and smug, wormy features came up to
the unsuspecting mageslayer just then, startling him a little. "Oh, I
didn't see you there," Fred blushed, having been caught trying to work a
pesky booger that clung to his right nostril. "Do you know where new
recruits should go, by chance?" "By chance? No," the man said bluntly. "By fate? Yes." Fred gave the man a blank look.The little man returned the blank stare. "Well!?""Well what?" "Where is it!?""Where's what?" "The place where new recruits go!!""Oh, well why didn't you just ask me that? Go up the staircase, follow the orb of light. Don't touch the orb, just follow it. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a blue potion to deliver." The man scuttled away and out the door abruptly, back the way Fred had came. With no other obvious choices, Fred ventured up the staircase...
