Dawn eventualy came, shrouded by a dreary, overcast sky. Rather
anticlimacticly, the Bird of Chulamon appeared, waking the bound
misadventurers from their uneasy slumber by it's obnoxious cluckings and
cawings. It was the ugliest thing they had ever seen, looking like some
unnatural cross between a vulture, a plucked chicken, and a gelatinous
blob of pimply skin-folds. It could hardly be capable of flight! It
bobbed it's head about like any other stupid bird would, pecking at the
ground from time to time amidst it's horrible caws. Now and again it
would loose balance and fall face first into the ground, obviously (well,
not to the yutes or beastmen, I guess) some basic design flaw in it's
genetic structure. The shrivled head was grossly oversized for it's jelly-
like body, it's every caw seemed like a desperate cry for someone to put
it out of it's misery. Still, these beastmen revered it. They groveled about the unsightly evolutionary freak like it was some god incarnate, chanting in their primitive and vulgar tongue. "The Test of Death begins!" announced the beastman from the night before."Well, here we go," droned Val. "Well, here we go,"Chuc mocked shrilly. "Just shut the @#*% up, ok!?""Yeah," Fredric concured, "shut up! I hope you die first, Val! I hope it's slow and painful!" "Whoa, easy now, Fredric," Chuc cautioned, looking appalled. "I think you may be getting a little carried away. Val hardly deserves to die, much less slowly and painfully, his stomach sliced wide open, his intestines spilt before his living eyes, his limbs being torn apart, one by one and...well, you get the point!"Frederic blushed. "I guess I do get a little carried away sometimes," he admitted. "Well it was a very insensitive and horrible thing to say, Frederic," Val wailed, tears welling up in his eyes. "I can't believe you would...""Didn't I tell you to shut up, Val!?" Chuc barked. "Oh, now is he gonna cry? Look at Val's lips quiver! HA! Quiver lip!" "Yeah, HA!" Fredric piped in again. "Quiver Lip! Quiver! HA!""You leave him alone!" Elashi exclaimed, defending their appointed leader. "This isn't anyone's fault! The minute we start pointing fingers..." "I wish I could point a finger!" Chuc rudely interjected. "But I'm afraid I don't have that luxury anymore! I hope you do die slow, Val! I hope you die for days!"
