King Fred meets Mage Manathus

Fred noticed a small figure standing in front of him. Actually, he wasn't that small; he was just bowing very low to the ground. "Your Majesties," he said. "Arise, um..." Fred couldn't place this strange man, who hid himself inside a large, colorful robe. "Manathus. Variously known in this world as Minestus, Manathea, Morivia, pretty much anything starting with M." "Well, what do you want, Mage Manathus?" Manathus arose. "Should it please you to know, your majesty, it was my magic that brought you here." Lord Fred, or rather, King Fred now, was rather perplexed. "I thought this was King Emry's throne room." "Ah, but it was. King Emry, along with the next seventeen people in line for the throne of Allaria, all perished in the great Two Day War. As to you, Princess, or should you accept my offer, Queen Astra, I regret to inform you that your mother and sisters were all killed in the fight." Fred couldn't believe his luck! He figured he had no chance of ever becoming King of Allaria; he sent himself out on dangerous missions in the hope of meeting and marrying a princess to eventually become king of another land. And now that he had met that princess, he was sitting on the throne of Allaria. "Sorry about that nasty trip through the swamp," continued Manathus. "I was just distraught over the death of my loyal hellhound Velus. He was the one that gave the idea to start the war in the first place." Fred interrupted. "You started the war?" "Oh yes, it was quite easy to trick both Allaria and Aquilaria into thinking that the Caves were rich in gold, silver, thoralium, and several other precious metals. They fought over the Caves for two days, right in the realm of my magic. It was quite easy to pick off the arrogant warriors I needed out of my way, actually. I then came out of the Caves to suggest a peace to the few leaders left. It said that, should both parties involved agree, the closest person to each throne would marry each other, thereby bringing peace to the land." Needless to say, both Fred and Astra have several questions at this point.
