A Darkness Descends

The woman's gasps, and you can tell it is a human gesture. Perhaps the warp had caused her to return to her proper body somehow. You and the woman, whose name you didn't quite catch, watch in horror as something enters through the hole. It is a strange creature of vaguely human shape, with a stick-like body and a huge round head that is an eye-hurtingly bright yellow. Its face is two inky black eyes and a malicious smile. At his side are three skeleton, an unholy fire burning in their eye sockets.

"Yo-yo-yo, whazzup! Happyman is in the hizouse!" shouts the monstrosity, sounding almost like a savage of the distant jungles. Seeing the monster, you know now what you have to do. You pull out your sword and, screaming the battle-cry of your house, slash at it with all your might. The woman pulls out her bow and arrow and strikes it several times through where its heart would be if it were human. It does not even flinch, only smiling more widely.

As you try to slice its head off, the unholy thing spits at you, and you slam into the bottomless pit. You are too dazed and shocked to think about the impatct that should have killed you or the strange burning feeling that had hit you once the thing's saliva had touched you. The woman, her bow and arrow also having been knocked into the pit, pulls out a sword and continues to fight on valiantly, although she is clearly not quite as experienced with a sword as she is with a bow and arrow. The creature, still unharmed, then opens its mouth and your heart breaks as you see it devour the valiant woman warrior. Well, this sucks, you think, knowing your death is near...
