"The wizard teleported us down here. Apparently the pictographs make this dais usable as a teleport spell reception area."

"So why were you asleep? I wouldn't have thought that this was a natural spot in which to take a nap."

"Side effect of the teleport spell."

"So that means that you've only been here a very short time?"

"I assume so, yes. I've no way of knowing for sure."

"You seem remarkably composed about all this."

"Well, the wizard told me what to expect. He described this dais and the bridges. The only unexpected aspect is you turning up. You're a dragon slayer, I suppose."

"Well, sort of a substitute for one really. I was looking for the fabled Princess Astra and the dog Velus, but found you instead."

"Well, I'm no Astra, though I'm not too bad with a sword myself. Though not in this body of course."

"One thing you haven't told me is why the wizard should send you down here."

"For the Dragon, of course. As I told you, the wizard is a friend of his."

1. "But what use can the Dragon possibly have for a girl in the body of a dog, and a dog in the bady of a girl?"
2. "In that case we'd better get away from here before he arrives to collect you."
