One of the baby dragons breathed quite a respectably sized jet of flame
towards them, and they hurriedly took a pace backwards. Perhaps the babies
weren't quite as helpless as they looked.
"Perhaps these babies aren't as helpless as they look!" said Astra. "But they are so darned cute!" said Velus who was still wondering if he could take one home. "SILENCE!" said Nomino. Everyone went silent. "We shall slay these vile monstrosities before they reach adolescence!" "You mean adulthood, don't you?" mumbled Fred. "SILENCE!" growled Nomino. "How dare you dare to put words in my mouth and meanings in my words! I mean what I say and say what I mean!" "But--" began Fred. "SILENCE!!! Don't you know what that word means??? Didn't they teach you anything is Scarsdale?" "That's Caemlyn--" "SILENCE!!!!! The next time you dare to contradict me I shall not be as kind as I have already shown myself to be!" Fred locked his jaw as he saw that this Wizard was one helluva of a #$@! $!. He wanted to point out the fact that his hypothesis that there must be two dragons, a male and a female, was not completely accurate for there were many species of amphibians and reptiles in the Great Kingdom that actually were born with fertilized eggs within their bodies; female races of animals that lived and died without male consortium. It could just be that dragons belonged to such a reproductive scheme, indeed, scholars of the Black Cat, the Pink Floyd and the Green Thumb, not to mention the White Hand, had held many a convention dealing with the known and the unknown of Dragonkinde, as well as the possible, the probable, and the downright zany. But, thought Fred, if this overbearing %$#@! thinks he's got all the answers, so be it! But I'm watching my back.
