To make matters worse, Andrea realised that she had failed to pick up her
sword before making her wish. But then, to her relief, she spotted it lying
on the ground a few feet away. The dragon must have decided that it would
be
appropriate to transport it with her. Picking it up, she tried to decide
what to do.
She looked around her, hoping that she might spot the Dishcloth in the same way that she had the sword, but there was no sign of it. Apparently the dragon had not interpreted her request as requiring any more than bringing her to the right locality, rather than arranging things so that the Dishcloth would be within arm's reach. Given that the Dishcloth could be expected to be well protected, if this was to be a quest worthy of the term then she suspected that it was more likely to be ahead of her - that is beyond the river of boiling lava and the cliff behind it - rather than to her rear. Having taken it on herself to go on this quest, she felt herself in honour bound to go onward. The question was: how? She looked up at the roof of the cavern, far, far above her, and dimly visible thanks to the illumination provided by the lava, but she found no inspiration there. A cloud of sulphurous fumes drifted by, making her cough.
