The Trouble with Wishes

Andrea resolved to be more careful the next time she made a wish.
This one certainly hadn't helped much. She was now in a hellish
cavern with a vast cliff on the other side. Between Andrea and the cliff
lay a river of boiling lava. There seemed to be things swimming in
the river. Andrea did not want to think about them.
She tried to push the button on the dragon lighter, but nothing happened. She wondered whether she only had one wish per day or if she had used up all of her wishes. She wondered wether it would be more dangerous to try to return through unknown ground to the entrance or to brave the dangers ahead.
