The “Sudden Illness” Option

Astra’s plan couldn’t be simpler. She would feign illness, and call for
the guard. When got close enough, she merely had to grab him and cut his
throat with her dagger. From there, escaping would be child’s play. She
still hadn’t decided whether she’d rescue her companion or not. After
all, it was Fred’s fault that she was here in the first place.
”Oooh aaah. I don’t feel so good. I’m getting woooooozy!” cried Astra. Right on cue, the guard came around the corner to investigate. “Can I do something for you, m’lady?” Everything was working perfectly! That’s when, quite unexpectedly, Fred spoke up. “WAIT! I think I can help her. I have some medical training from my days in the Knight Academy.” The guard paused. He was certainly eager to “examine” Astra, but he really didn’t know what he was doing. “Very well, carry on then.” He disappeared back around the coner. Astra’s jaw dropped in amazement. She couldn’t believe what had just happened. “What did you do that for?” ”Because I’m sure that my knowledge of medicine, as rudimentary as it is, far outweighs that of the typical guard in a palace dungeon. He was now standing next to the bars that seperated their cells. “Now, come on over and we’ll figure out what’s wrong with you.”
