Time for a Vacation

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 21128

Things went pretty well for me on Weston II - at least at first. The merchant to whom I delivered the whiskey paid up without haggling over the price. I used a substantial proportion of the money to pay for a repair yard to work on the damage to my poor battered Princess Astra.That would take some time, so I was going to be on the planet for a couple of weeks, which was about twelve days longer than I'd planned. Oh, well, it would make a change to have a vacation, and the planet was quite scenic in parts.

Two days later I was in my hotel room, watching the evening news programme before turning in for the night.

  1. I wasn't paying that much attention, until I heard the newscaster say that the navy ship Indefatigable was missing and presumed lost.
  2. There was a knock at the door. That alarmed me a little. I had no friends or acquaintances on Weston II. Who could possibly want to talk to me? But perhaps they had just got the wrong room.
