Suddenly, Zelda looked dazed for a moment. She blinked rapidly, then
turned and stared into Fred's eyes. "Um...what was I just saying?" she
asked. "Um...that you'll have my baby?" grinned Fred hopefully, looking the elfin warrior-princess up and down with a big sleazy leer. "PISS off!" said Zelda, shoving him. "Like I'd even let you kiss me, let _alone_ have a baby with you. We're on a quest here--it's, like, kind of important, 'n' stuff?" She whaps you upside the back of the head. "So PAY ATTENTION!" Well, that could have gone better, you think to yourself. "Okay. Scratch the baby idea. Come to think of it, I don't even know why _I_ said that...I think I must've been drunk or under a spell or something for a moment." Link wheels his horse in closer just in time to catch the end of this last sentence. "A spell, eh? Well, Gannon _is_ a powerful sorceror. Perhaps we should get some magical backup of our own? I know an old wizard who lives in a cave near here. Crazy old hermit, but he's got some nice scrolls and potions and whatnot to buy." Zelda shakes her head. "No, that crazy old coot will just take us out of our way! I know where the entrance to the first dungeon is--if we go straight there we can get the first piece of the Triforce of Wisdom by tomorrow! We don't need any magic--the weapons we already have should be plenty!" Link tossed his brown hair out of his eyes and looked Fred square in the face. "I think we should allow our new comrade to decide," he said. "So, Sir Frederick, which shall it be? Do we stop off to get some magical supplies, or do we go straight for the dungeon?"
