"Fred, Velus!" shouted Astra. "How on Earth did you get over
there." "Astra!" Fred
called back. "I see you've found a friend - and some clothes! I saw the
platform
and came across to see if it held anything of interest. But as I went, the
ladder
started to make ominous creaking noises, and I wasn't sure if it would
hold up for the
return trip. Then Velus found me. The ladder supported his light weight
well enough
of course." At that point, an ominous rumbling came from the ledge beneath
Astra and
Ardua's feet. Then it broke away from the wall and they found themselves
falling. "Oh
s**t," cried Astra, and that did indeed seem their likely destination.
