Sir Gunther had always been held as a reckless hothead by the noblemen and
upperclasses of Allarian society. In the last few years he had often gone
off on his own private crusades to other lands, returning with strange
tales and artifacts. After his twenty-second birthday these tendencies had become even worst. He began to outright ignore his father's orders and mother's pleas. They were convinced the dragon of the Southern Caves had their daughter, but he was convinced otherwise... There was a rumour floating around the more elite magical (And royal) circles in the duchylands of Allaria; a rumour of a magical egg from the east. It's powers over the minds of humankind was said to be unsurpassed by any other item left in the wide world. The Archmage Crucibal of Hespan was said to posess the item, and none knew whether he had yet used it or not not. Or whether or not it even existed. But Gunther, though young, was well traveled. He knew the name Crucibal well. In the city of Vjorica, where he had traveled once(far to the west of Allaria), they called him Castellan. And in his homeland they called him Crucius the Fell. Gunther had once nearly succeded in slaying the mage, but had fell short and had simply injured him and banished him from the Great Kingdom.~Had he fled to Hespan with my sister?~ He thought to himself. His gut told him the answer was 'yes'. And he always followed his gut, always. And so, foolishly, he set out east on his Geldan steed, Wingfoot, towards the distant land of Hespan. He encountered no troubles on the roads in the wildlands and independent dutchies of the eastern lands. That is until he came to the remote dutchy of Haunt which lay halfway between Allaria and Hespan. There he encountered a group of three gorillas on the ill-kept road. He rubbed his eyes when he saw them, for they appeared to have square metallic heads with two slits on the top. He didn't have time to examine them long, for they turned on him and chased him for several hours until he was beyond the borders of the dutchy. He then made for the nearest friendly settlement that he knew of in the region, Cavaliera, a small village which thrived on the trade of Hespanish wine from the east moving west to Allaria and beyond. Upon the main road of the village he saw a longtime friend, a trader named Basillio who hailed from the realm of Ryngaerd, a distant and shadowy realm. The two had had many run- ins in the past, and were not surprised to see each other."Gunther, what brings you so far from your home? And why the hood and worn vagabond clothing?" Basillio asked upon seeing the prince. "I head east in search of the Archmage Crucius, although Crucibal is what he is called in these uncouth eastern lands. He is said to have a magical egg of immense power, and I belive he is behind my sister's disappearance. I am here to seek shelter at the inn before I ride towards Hespan with great haste on the morrow. With good luck, I should reach the land within three days ride."Basillio wished his friend luck on his quest. He was the last familier person Gunther would see for quite some time.
