The ranger asked to see the missing companions rooms so Fred took him to
the inn. The old man walked into each of the three rooms in turn, humming
to himself as he looked at everything.
Meanwhile Fred stood in the corridor impatiently tapping his foot, when he
was approached by a mysterious stranger.
"Excuse me good Sir," said the stranger, "I hear you are quite a talent at
singing?"
"Singing? No, not really," Fred said nonchalantly, "what is it to you?"
"Oh just professional interest. You see, I happened to hear one of the
patrons talking about a singing knight. He said the song was quite catchy
actually."
"Is that so?" said Fred, absently studying his fingernails.
"I especially found the lyrics interesting. For example, there was one line
about a `long lost brother king'."
"You don't say? Ah, Alfredo I see you are finished we better hurry we've
got lots of work to do nice to meet you Sir please don't let me detain you
I'm sure you're a busy man."
Fred hurried away down the corridor all but pushing Alfredo in front of
him. The mysterious stranger still stood glaring after them as they
disappeared down the staircase.
