Sigourney shrugged. "I think it's probably as good as we're likely to find in a port town. Let's at least check it out." With a nod, the three women entered the door.

The barkeep was a short, ill-shaved fellow named Jossim, whose left arm ended in a stub just below the elbow. He turned at the sound of what he thought was his first customer of the evening - and his eyes nearly popped out of his head at the sight of the three beautiful, perfectly identical females, standing before him. "Praise be!" he said in a raspy voice, "I've done died and gone to Heaven!"

One of the girls laughed. "Sorry, sir, afraid not. My name is Thelma, and these are my sisters, Sigourney and Louise. We saw the sign that you need bar help here?"

The old man scratched his whiskers. "Aye, that I do - but if ya don't mind my askin', what brings such lovely creatures as yourselves to my little bar?"

Briefly, and leaving out a few of the more fantastic details (such as not knowing who they really were, or their encounter with a real-nonlife vampire), Thelma explained that they had fled Prince Karo rather than having to have one of them marry him, and they were looking for passage to anywhere.

The old man snorted. "Aye, I can believe that! Karo is a brass-plated dunderbrain - not half the man his father was! All right, girls, if ye're so inclined, I can use your help here. Rules is simple - 20 shellins a day, plus half anything ye get tipped. If I catches ye cheatin' me, yer out. Keep yer customers happy, but don't take any more guff off'n 'em than you wanna. If they gets too rowdy, just calls for old Jossim, and I'll run 'em out meself. You gals got rooms to stay?"

The three glanced at each other. "Um, no, actually we don't," Sigourney admitted.

Jossim nodded again. "There's a room upstairs ye can have for 5 shellins a week. Yer outfits is under the counter there. Now go on up'n'get changed - yer shift starts in 5 minutes!"

1. Everything goes smoothly the first few nights - until a soldier enters the bar.
2. Having the sisters at the bar keeps business booming - so much so that they consider staying on there!
3. The sisters are distressed at the bar maid outfits they're supposed to wear.
4. One of the girls overhears a very disturbing conversation between two customers.
