He knew nothing of Belboz or indeed magicians, had come here by coincidence, and found Fred's tale ridiculous. He declared that she would be taken to a mental institution where they would attempt to fix her "delusions" and "tendency towards violence."

He found Fred's tale hard to believe, but the circumstances at least did not seem to conflict with it, and she seemed genuine, so he gruffly said that his team would look into it.
