Shen Tso Takes the Plunge

The water in the lake was crystal clear, and she found her vision (which was considerably better now than it had been as Fred) was limited only by the lack of illumination in the cavern. She noted that there seemed to be a wide variety of fish swimming in the lake, including some kinds she'd never seen before.

The swim was soothing, and Shen Tso was just over two thirds of the way across when she realized:

1. Her armor was now loose and ill-fitting.
2. There was a withered old man on the far shore, trying to warn her to turn back.
3. A whirlpool had opened behind her, and was slowly dragging her backwards.
4. One by one, all the torches on both sides of the lake were going out.
