The Never Ending Quest - Episode 13747

Fre' and Belba galloped along the goat-trail of the mountain. The brisk autumn morning did them good with its low sun, shadowed sky, and cold breeze.

"Aigh, Belba," said Fre' "Morning good, cold good."

"Yesssss," sighed the other ogress, her arms lolling on the ground. "Soon we be home. Soon smell sheep nose in smokehouse, mmmmmmmm good!"

Yes, indeed. Soon they would be home, the village of Ak', a rough- neck hamlet carved out of the mountain and big enough for twenty-three ogres. Fre' and Belba had only just joined the commune a fortnight ago. The others didn't know where they came from, but that didn't stop them from welcoming them. Ogres were that way, once they caught your scent and decided if it was freindly or not, that is. As to Fre' and Belba, their pheremones told a whole lot of stories to the local ogres, but first and foremost was that they were indeed friendly ogresses. The only odd thing was that they both seemed to prefer the company of ogresses than ogres. The chief was a bit miffed at that, but he smelled it in their pheremones, so what was an ogre to do? He smiled, grunted, and kept his mouth shut; his current wife Grita wouldn't have aprroved of a foursome anyway.

Of course, the whole clan would've been shocked if they realized that the other oddities they smelled in the newcomers' pheremones was the past stain of human genes when Fre' was "Fred" and Belba was "Belboz". But they had no clue...and neither did Fre' and Belba!

  1. Once they get home they open their bag and spill out the little boy "Jack" who they trapped in a snare
  2. Once home they join the finishing preparations for the three-night autumnal celebration of "Hain"
