Fred was about to ask why Zerm the Unspeakable would go to so much trouble
to cause so much mischief, when his powers were capable of killing them
all instantly. This undoubtedly would have led to a very thorough and
interesting explanation on Astra's part, which would have shed light on
various events that had previously occurred and been very enlightening for
all concerned.
Instead, a group of fluffy bunnies came into view. They hopped menacingly out of the surrounding jungle, advancing in a cute, furry wave. "RUN!" screamed Astra. "Run as fast as you can!" He (yes, Astra) bolted through the jungle, away from the hair-raising hares. Fred was skeptical, but decided that just as discretion was the better part of valour, so cowardice was the better part of discretion, and hurried after Astra and Alex. "Come on Robert!" she called behind her. Robert paid no attention, kneeling down to stroke one of the cute little bunnies. "They're just fluffy bunnies, you morons!" she yelled after her retreating companions. Fred and Astra were soon out of sight, and when they turned to look for Robert, heard only faint screams and disgusting noises of crunching and ripping. Astra shuddered. "Not even he deserved such a fate." "You mean she," remarked Alex. Fred noticed a berry bush growing nearby, which bore what appeared to be the same kind of fruit they had eaten earlier. She fingered a berry thoughtfully. "You don't suppose it would work twice, do you?" she asked Astra.
