The Sceptical Enquirer

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 12127

"Really?" said the FBI agent, both her intonation and her facial expression suggesting that she found this difficult to believe. "Really. The principal side-effect is amnesia. I found out from Dr Smith that Dr Arden was doing research into a treatment that might enable the brain to make new linkages bypassing damaged areas, and so restoring access to the lost memories. When Dr Smith said he was coming to the funeral, I asked him if I could come with him, in the hope that I could get access to Dr Arden's notes."

Agent Thoms responded:

  1. "Well, that would seem to tie in with what we know, but we'll need to make further enquiries."
  2. "What Dr Arden was working on was supposed to be top secret. He had no business confiding in Dr Smith."
  3. "Dr Arden wasn't working on anything like that. Try again - and you'd better make it more plausible this time."
  4. "You're a bit of a grave robber then, Ms Jones?"
